What is MES?
MES is the transdisciplinary answer to combat unmet clinical needs in visceral and hepatobiliary medicine with a special focus on aiming to improve the performance and endurance of patient care involving surgery. As an independent department, MES is embedded in the University Clinic for General-, Visceral- and Vascular Surgery at Otto-von-Guericke University (chairman Roland S Croner, a global opinion maker in robotic surgery). Our daily mission is inspired by clinical problems occurring in real-world situations before, during or after surgical interventions. MES focuses primarily – but not exclusively- on cancer research.
